The story of a Little Hunter
When Hunter, my grandson, was 6 months old, my daughter mentioned she could not find a comfortable sun hat for him (he does have a big head) and I agreed to make him one ………. and suddenly everyone wanted one of them! And that is how it all began!
Little Hunters baby products was born in Autumn of 2019, and we have not looked back since.

Hi, I am Louise, mother of two and a Granny of five grandsons. My second youngest grandson’s name is Hunter and when he was born in November 2018, my husband and I were already retired, living in a scenic little coastal village, close to Hermanus on the sunny Southern Cape Whale Coast. Both of us are former teachers and lecturers of vocation, but today my passions in life include lots of artwork, social tennis and long walks along the many miles of coastal paths with my beautiful “Boerboel” dog, Tara.
In 2019, and notwithstanding that I had hardly tried my hand at any serious sewing for ages, I decided to make my little grandson, Hunter, a teddy bear as well as one or two stuffed elephants for his bedroom. I crocheted him a lovely, soft, pure lambswool blanket as well, perfect for a cuddly newborn to wrap up warm. That blanket was a true test of my abilities and took ages to finish. One must appreciate how difficult crocheting and knitting is for left-handed folk? So by any stretch of imagination, I cannot label myself as a commercially crocheter or knitter.
Since March 2021 Pumza (aka Caroline) joined our team as a Jack of all trades, but mainly for cutting the fabrics.
So how did my hobby turn into something more you might ask?
I made two more teddies as gifts and received two or three orders for teddies. I thought, okay, this is something nice to keep me busy between playing a game of tennis and walking Tara.

Little Hunters baby products was born in Autumn of 2019, and we have not looked back since.
Gradually I brought in new items to our range and some of our customers became friends, even if it is only by dropping a “hi, how are you?” or a compliment via whatsapp.
It is so good to walk the streets and see one of our hats or dresses and I struggle to keep myself from approaching the parents.
The original Little Hunters family consisted of Hunter, his brother and his 3 nephews, but has now grown to be much bigger because every client becomes part of the Hunters family.
